Struthers Parkinson's Center

This clinic is located in Golden Valley, Minnesota, and focuses on the needs of individuals with Parkinson's disease. This clinic offers several courses and programs to improve awareness and understanding of Parkinson's Disease for care partners and their loved ones, including:

Caregiver Skill Building | This is a free online monthly course that focuses on teaching care partners skills that will support themselves and their loved ones. To learn more about the course you can call (952)993-5495 or read more on their website. 

Focus Class | This class allows individuals and their care partners to learn more information about the condition including early symptoms, common treatments, and how to cope with this diagnosis. Deep Brain Stimulation Informational Class | This is a course that discusses what deep brain stimulation is, how it can help reduce Parkinson's disease symptoms, what makes someone a good candidate for the surgery, follow interventions, and discussions with individuals that have had the surgery. Mankato Clinic

Mankato clinic has partnered with Catholic Charities of Southern Minnesota to create the Powerful Tools for Caregivers classes. These free classes focus on teaching skills that care partners may need during their journey, important these classes are not specific to Parkinson's disease care partners. Some of the topics that they focus on are stress management, communication, and improving decision-making. The courses are offered once a week for either 1.5 hours or 2.5 hours for six weeks.
